Hello Cupcake Lovers!!!

Hi Everyone!

i have not been much active on my Make Up blog for a few reasons. One because of personal reasons, involved with work and my house.... yes you heard me lol a HOUSE! My boyfriend and i bought a house this month and we have been extremely busy buying it (takes a lot to buy a house... i have never signed so many documents in a single month if not in my entire life haha) and of course moving and organizing the new place takes much effort :P

I am still going to be posting make up ideas to the blog but i would like you all to take a second and visit my "sister" blog Called "Violet Rose Cupcake". It is a newly created by me blog where i will be posting ideas and recipes for cupcakes and possibly cakes :)

it is my new hobby i acquired as soon as we got to the new place as my new kitchen allows me to be as creative and extraordinary with my cooking as i wish to be :D it's amazing and just the right size.

Tomorrow my Boyfriend and i will be visiting his sister. She just turned 17 and for a gift i am making cupcakes for her which i am sure she will appreciate a whole bunch as the theme is Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" it'a an excellent movie which i recommend you see :)

Here is what i am talking about:

The idea is to create cupcakes and to incorporate the characters into the decorations.

I will be using fondant to create the characters and place them on top of the cupcakes. i will be making Red Velvet Cupcakes. The recipe came from a good friend of mine who is a baker herself and creates most amazing cupcake and cake creations.

here are the decorations i made out of fondant. i will show you how the cupcakes turned out in a couple of days as i have not yet made the cupcakes... i want them to be fresh for tomorrow :)

forgive me for the poor quality of the pictures as i took those with my blackberry.

i also created a random pumpkin... i sort of matches the theme but i thought it was a bit odd.. the reasons it's here is because i made it out of curiosity (how it would turn out) and it turned out so cute i couldn't get rid of it :P

I have been contacted by John who is running a family business that specializes in Flat Irons and Hair Dryers. He offered to send me a sample of one of their best products, which is a Flat Iron “Hana”. I said it was a pleasure because it has in fact been the best straightener/flat iron I have used until now. A few months back, maybe a year ago, I bought a pricy straightener and I really liked it, it worked well and it always made my hair as straight as I wanted it to. I had no major complaints. HOWEVER, when I used Hana Flat Iron I was shocked at how much better it actually was than the old straightener I have. It, in a way, opened my eyes to all the little things about the old straightener I didn't like, but never realized because I figured it couldn't be that bad, I thought it was the best they got, they were minor things, yet after using the new Hana Flat Iron I realized they were not that minor and they actually made a big difference in how well it worked and how comfortable it was to use.
For instant: with my old straightener at first I thought it was pretty smooth when I was using it on my hair, only after using the Hana Flat Iron did I realize that it wasn't as smooth as Hana! It just glides though your hair and doesn't pull a single piece, it left me in shock after I was done, and it honestly took me 5 minutes to go from this to this.

Not one hair has left my head and I loved it! I believe this is Hana’s best quality.

Hana Flat Iron is very light and comfortable to use. It is made out of 100% China Ceramic material and it looks stunning! The plates are like mirrors, which makes it very esthetically pleasing and the entire straightener looks very classy.

The Plates are also a very good width which allows for faster effects. There is a temperature adjustment therefore you are able to use it no matter what kind of hair you have, you can even use it if you have very thin, fine hair, put it on low and straighten away! For thick hair put it on high and your locks will be tamed :)
The cable is a perfect length, in the morning when I get ready for work I walk around a lot in my bedroom to get everything ready to leave, and often multitask by doing my hair at the same time, the length of the cord allows for easy moving around, I really like that as well.
I believe it comes with a case for it as well, I say "I believe" because I have received it from the sampler and I didn't personally purchase it on line, the straightener came with all kinds of items and products therefore I do not know what exactly comes with it when one purchases it on line or buys it in store.

The sampler asked for my review as the product is new and as we all know products needs to be tested before people trust it, I would say go ahead and purchase it if you need a good straightener.
It is no longer a chore to do my hair!

I hope this has given you a lot of information about the straightener as well as I hope the images are helpful for you as well.

Party Look and a New Kitty

Hi Everyone!

This weekend has been very busy for me, but i am not complaining as i am now a happy owner of the cutest little treasure, our little kitty “B”. He (i'm assuming its a he because 95% of red cats are male) is such a good kitty and so playful. He's very smart and energetic, he loves to play and he looooooves to scratch! I look like i went though a gigantic rose bush! Haha :) here is a picture of my little treasure.

Last week i promised you a party look and one that you could wear to a house party, there was a few looks i had in mind but i figured i'd go with a simple one since over-doing it even for the party doesn't always turn out that great! ;)

so here is what i came up with, simple and to the point, it has a party aspect to it as it is sparkly and flirtatious.

Here is how you can achieve this look:

1. Prime your eye with MAC Bare Study
Apply MAC Vanilla Eyeshadow all over the lid to the brow
2. Apply UD Bourbon Eyeliner such as it shows in the picture, since the UD eyeliner is soft and eyeshadow sticks to it well i feel these are the best to use for this look, mind you you can choose any colour eyeliner and create endless looks!
3. Then on top of the eyeliner apply any sparkly brown eyeshadow of your choice and smudge it outside of the eyeliner line with a small brush, it looks cleaner as well as stays on for much longer (match the colour of the eyeliner with the eyeshadow colour)
4. Apply glitter eyeliner of your choice to add extra “disco ball” effect to the make up
You can extend the eyeliner or make it thinner or thicker, it is all up to you and how visible you want to make the make up.
5. Apply Black Mascara or mascara with shimmer such as Cover Girl

This is a very simple look it actually takes only couple of minutes to do as well as if you loose the shimmer and sparkle you can wear this make up as an everyday look to work or hang out with friends.

Gothic Violet Make Up

Hi Everyone!

Last week i was not able to post anything make up related so i decided to use that occasion to introduce you to a new member of my house :) see my previous post to see pictures of my new pet :)

To make this up to you i decided to show you not one but TWO looks today, both pretty funky :)

First is a Gothic look i came up with on a spot, i designed it on a piece of paper i tried to make it as funky as possible and something that really stood out. it's not a usual look for me but i wanted to try it and i think it looks pretty good! lol
What do you think?

here is how to achieve this look

Step by Step:

1. Apply MAC Bare Study as Base all over the lid up until the brow
2. Apply NYX Milk Jumbo EyePencil on top of the MAC Base
3. On top of the MIlk apply MAC's Vanilla and just on the moving part of the lid itself apply Gesso
4. In the crease apply MAC's Print, just a thin line
5. Follow the same steps to prepare the bottom eyelid.
6. Now you can use your creativity to apply eyeliner any way you wish and any way it will flatter your eye shape. you can use MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline and different types of eyeliner brushes to achieve any look you want!

HAVE FUN! :)

My second look is a Purple Star look, it is so simple you can achieve it within 5 minutes!

Here is how to do it...

Step by Step

1. Apply MAC Bare Study Paint Pot to the entire lid up until the brow.
2. Apply Purple Ben Nye Lumiere Creme as a base on the entire lid and half way to the brows, it is stickily enough to keep sparkles on.
3. Apply Ben Nye Sparklers in MD - Galactic Violet all over the area where you applied purple base
4. Apply MAC Eyeshadow in Shroom just above the purple colour base
5. Apply MAC Eyeshadow in Vanilla as a highlight
6. in the inner lower corner of the eye as well as on the outer corner where two eye lids meet, apply a bit of white base, Milk by NYX is a great one. You can also apply it to the bottom waterline.
7. On top of white base in the inner corner and the outer corner, apply MAC Eyeshadow in Gesso and then on top add a bit of White Frost
8. With MAC Blacktrack Fluidline apply a line to the bottom lid so the inner and outer end of it point down, at the bottom lid apply a thin line and allow the outer end to slightly point up
9. Apply Mascara to top and bottom lashes, i used Lise Watier Feline

i hope you enjoyed both of the make up looks today,
next week i will introduce you to a house party look :) Since it is a May 24 weekend which is a long weekend, my boyfriend and i are organizing a house party it will be a good opportunity for that ;)

Kitty "B"

Hello :)

Since my internet doesn't work today I can't post a make up post because the phone doest support the size of the images I want to input so I decided to take this opportunity and let you know what's going on in my life right now :)

I'm getting a little kitty !!! :D :D :D

I'm geting it on June 4th and I'm so excited about it, in fact both me and my botfriend are very happy because of this sweet little creature :)

We are going to name it after Disneys Beauty and the Beast so its name is going to be "B" and that's short to Beast :) lol

We figured it works in so many ways and its just perfect haha

I akso have a picture I can show you that I had in my phone, my friend from work who has them took a picture of the cat I want :) its the ginger kitty with a tiny black spot on its ear :) haha I thought it was so cute!

See?...

Awwww... I just can't wait!!! :) we already bought stuff for it like litter box, toys, bed, collar and such so we are just waiting for its arrival as it has to be at least 6 weeks to leave its mom and we want to give it at least 8 weeks :)

Anyway I better go now and figure out a way to get make up pictures on my phone so can post a make up blog :P

Teal Cloud

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful week, mine was pretty busy with work but fortunately i still found some time to see my friends as well as prepare for my blog entry this week. And so here it is! :)

i'd love to show you a beautiful Teal look i came up with over the weekend, i am absolutely in love with a teal colour and this look was actually inspired by a nail polish from the new MAC Collection "Quite Cute" it's called Mischievous and its a beautiful light teal colour, i just had to have it :P

here is what it looks like, my camera was being finicky and didn't properly show the colour so i had to grab a picture from on line.

And here is the make up:

this is how you can achieve this look:

(All the products listed are just guidelines of products to use to give you the effect from the presented make up ideas)

1. Prime your eye with MAC Groundwork Paint pot almost all the way up to the brow
2. Apply a thin layer NYX Milk Jumbo EyeLiner to an outlined area of your upper and bottom eyelid, do not blend in
3. To get the teal colour as is showing on the picture I mixed Ben Nye Turquoise and Iced Gold, and applied it ONLY to the lid where the Milk was applied in step 2.
4. Apply MAC Lucky Green only a little bit to the outer corner for a green reflection
5. To the bottom outer lid apply MAC Blue Calm and just on the VERY outer MAC Deep Truth
6. Just above the the teal on the top lid apply MAC Coquette and on top of Coquette a thin layer of MAC Shroom. Try to not blend the teal and Coquette together, to separate them even more you might want to use a thin brush and apply a thin line of the Coquette just above the teal
7. Use MACs Vanilla as a highlight and to blend out Coquette
8. Outline top and bottom eyelash line with MACs Blacktrack Fluid Line, wing it! ;)
9. A Mascara i used Feline Lise Watier

i fee this make up has a beautiful effect and can be even worn as an everyday look as the bright colours are dimmed with neutrals.

And now, as promised last week i will "demonstrate" how i achieved the Silver Rock look.

Remember this?

Products and Techniques I used:

(All the products listed are just guidelines of products to use to give you the effect from the presented make up ideas)

1. Prime eye with MAC Bare Study Paint Pot (any primer will do)
2. Prime just the lid part of the eye with NYX Black Jumbo Eyeliner
3. On the area with the Black primer apply yaby pp052 platinum (medium silver with metallic finish)
4. Starting from the outer corner of the eye in the direction of the brow (half way though) apply MACs Coquette somewhat heavily then pulled the shadow in the direction of the centre of the lid, with more shadow come all the way to the inner corner of the eye
5. Clean up the outer corner for a clean straight line with a light eyeshadow, i used MACs Vanilla, going up to the brow as well as you may extend with a small angled eyeliner brush it to make a pointy effect for more on the edge look or smooth it out for a more everyday look
6. With MACs Print darken the outer corner of the eye
7. With MACs Vanilla smooth out the edge of the eyeshadow underneath the brow and use it as highlight, apply a small amount in the inner corner as well
8. With a narrow brush apply MACs Print to the bottom lid just on the outer corner.
9. Apply a small amount of black eyeliner to the top lash line all the way to the inner corner, i used MAC Blacktrack, as well as apply it to the waterline
10. Apply a thick coat of Mascara, i used Maybelline the Colossal Volum' Express

As you can see there is not too many steps and they are fairly easy. This could be an everyday look or if you like the edgy style :) or an evening or date look.

I hope you will try it out as it is a very flattering make up shape for most eye shapes.

Silver Rock

Hi Everyone,

Honestly, writing these two words above was one of the strangest things i did recently... it is so strange as i have not written anything in here for so long, and the reason for that is in the post below.
i am not sure how to start this post as i am definitely out of practice but i hope to get back into it as i am planning to post something AT LEAST every 2 weeks or so, i hope to do it every week, however i do have a very busy schedule and many things are happening in my life, and many things happened in my life in the past months here is a quick summary of it:

as you know from the blog below I HAVE FELL IN LOVE AGAIN! and i'd like to introduce you to Justin <3

as you can also see i have completely changed my image ;)

how do you like my new red hair??

I GOT MY FIRST APARTMENT! :)

OH!! and Justin has moved in hehe ... :)

i also went to Disney with Justin and his family in March, here are some fun pics from that:

these were some fun times :D

i also got promoted at my work and am currently working as a Human Resources Information System Administrator and i absolutely ADORE my job and what i do, it is all based on my favourite software which is Excel and each day i have an exciting project to prepare :)

so this is basically a summary of my life now, if i left out anything this time around i am sure you'll find out about it soon enough :P

but lets get to the business!!

this is going to be a very simple make up post with just a simple rock and roll look and if you wish to find out what products i used and techniques you'll have to wait just a bit longer as this is only a preview :)

Hi Everyone :) Update on my life

This is not a post for make up.. it has not much to do with it in fact.. this is an update from my life. I am letting you know this in case you are not interested in my personal life. So keep reading if you are interested as to why i was away for so long...
Oh my... it has been so long... I can't even believe i am doing this right now. This is going to be a typical but not a typical for MY blog, post. this post will contain no make up pictures just an update on my life. I feel i owe you guys so many apologies and i owe you so many posts with make up. I have such amazing fans and you mean so much to me, you always made me feel great even when the days were worse, you have always brought my spirits up when i was sad and when i felt lonely. I miss you and i am very sorry i was away for so long... i swear it was never my intention. I did not do it by choice... in fact i had no choice and my life went to complete s*** for a while.
I have gone through a lo since my last post in May... in fact during that time i was already in a tough situation but i was still able to do what i love because even though everything was taken away from me i still had my make up and i still had a camera.. after that last post in May... there was no more hope, my camera was taken from me and the only thing left was make up... and that doesn't do the job if you want to post on the blog, does it...
well i feel like i should give you explanation to all this and this is why i am writing this.
my ex-boyfriend (ex-common in-law) and i split... went our separate ways (which i am now very happy about) and since i was in Canada all alone and i have invested everything in him and life with him, i was left with nothing when we split. he has demanded all the things that were ours to be his, and that included the camera.. :( since then i needed to find a place to live and find a job that would pay me because i didn't have a job at the time when i was with him because i was attending full time college, Make up school and then i was in full time co-op (unpaid) for my HR career. I feel i was cheated because he decided we should not be together right after we have decided i would quit my job that paid me.. so thats why i was not able to purchase camera and pay for internet.
Currently, I have a full time job that pays (i have worked very hard at my co-op position and they have given me a job) i have a place to live and it has internet (thats why i am able to write this:) and... i am in a relationship with the most wonderful man on the Earth...
he is truly the love of my life, has been here for me in the worst time of my life, first a friend whom i'd give everything for and now my dear boyfriend whom i'd give even more than everything for. He has been a solid support for me for the last few months and i don't know where i would be right now, who i would be right now if it was not for him and his love.
I still don't have a camera and this is why i am not able to create a post with make up but i am slowly but surely saving money for it and i know i will be able to post some Make-Up Posts for you guys....

Hello my lovely blogers!

Like i said previously i wasnt expecting to be able to upload posts as ofetn as i would like to and unfortunately it did come to the point in which i am uploading things every few weeks which i do appologize for however i hope soon things will change. Soon... Sunday is the last day which i will have a camera available for my use. so i really do not know how often i will be able to upload anything :( makes me so sad and unfortunately i am not able to get a new camera just now... :( Maybe I will be able to borrow some kind of decent one from a friend. I don't know all i know is that i am sorry that this is hapening.

Eye Glasses Make Up

Hello Everyone,

Like promised i am posting a make up for glasses wearers :) It's not a definition nor the only way to do it and the only colours to wear. What i'm trying to demonstrate is the general tricks and tips for those of you who wear glasses and what your make up to show better :)

To accomplish make up that will allow your eyes to be visible and bright through the frames try and follow these tips:
1. Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and defined, they will frame your eyes and will contrast the frame of your glasses
2. Make sure that you have no dark circles under your eyes to make your eyes brighter behind the glass
3. Curl your eyelashes! It will make sure your eyes seem more open and at the same time larger
4. Highlight under your eyebrow, firstly to define your brows even more and secondly to brighten your eye up
5. Avoid dark colours of eyeshadows, dark colours make your eyes look smaller
6. Define your eyeliner, it will define the frame of your eye, making them more visible
7. Brighten up your bottom lid and waterline. Here i used a silver-white eyeliner and white eyeshadow on bottom lid

following these steps will allow for your eye o stand out :) I wear glasses all the time and i definitely see a difference when i do and when i don't wear make up. I mostly wear just mascara and that usually helps open up my eye but following these tricks will definitely make a much bigger difference :)

some products i used: Mascara - L'Oreal Voluminous, MAC fluidline in blacktract, MAC eyeshadows (can't remeber exactly which ones :P sorry lol), UD brow box in honey pot, Ben Nye iced gold, NYX Jumbo Pencil in White

I don't know how often i will be able to post on my blog but i PROMISE that i will TRY and make a 1-2 post per week. Currently i'm not home from 7am till 7 pm because of my work (which by the way i absolutely looooooooove :) you will probably see me mention it quite few times, since i talk about it so often to everyone else around me :P and on weekends i will be most likely doing my make up classes.. so thats why i don't have a lot of time... the next point adds to this point

also when it comes to my actual post.. they might LOOK different, i'm not sure how to explain it other than the old photographer has retired and i need to find a new one lol, so the pictures might look slightly (if at all) different and i don't know how often i will be able to work with my new photographer

my YouTube channel is still going to be up and running, again i need to find someone that will take pictures (if you guys know like tips or something on how to take your own pictures i would really appreciate it, i know most of you do and i can't understand how you do it, i feel like i FAIL at it lol)

hi everyone

As you have noticed i was not on my blog for quite a bit and i feel terrible, i really do.... i kind of wanted to appoligise to all of you and kind of wanted to update you on what's up. right now my life has changed drastically and it's very hard for me to deal with a lot of things and i am having a very hard time picking up a make up brush right now... all i can promise you is that there will be a post soon, that i have made a while back but never published it, so stay tuned for that, but any new ones i'm really going to have to find strength from within me to get myself up and pick up a make up brush... i am not quite ready to say what has happened in my life, i'm getting there, i'm close to being... OK... i just need a bit more time to grieve. That's all for now, i hope You'll keep on coming, i really care about you and dont want to loose you as blog friends and followers

Hi My Lovely Followers

I though it would be so cool to show you something i discovered today :P i knew that the picture would eventually be sent to the public but i didn't know when or how, so today i went on the blog of my Make up school and found this

you're probably thinking as to why i'm so excited about the picture above hehe

anyway here is my quick update on my life while i struggle with my flu and a new condition: my growing in wisdom tooth... ALL AT ONCE... why?!?!?! ... ugh...

I felt i needed to explain my disappearance so here i am.. I have been extremely busy with exams and on top of that I HAVE A FLU.... :( and i have been sick since last Thursday... it's really getting to me, i try and sleep a lot and i'm taking all kinds of meds and nothing is really helping... hopefully it will end soon! Brown Eyed Beauties

Hello Lovely Brown Eyed Beauties :)

AND BLUE AND GREEN AND HAZEL AND GREY lol Don't worry this make up tips will work for all of you :D
I have received a request from my friend to make a post on how to bring out brown eyes and how to make them spark! :) and i love the challenge! haha
I myself don't have brown eyes, as you know, therefore a bit of photoshop and anything can be done :P

here is a simple smokey purple eye that i believe works great for all brown eyes no matter what the skin colour is, works for light and dark skin :)

what i used was the 120 palette to achieve it.

Here are my suggestions about what specific colours to use to achieve the bright brown eye:

For light skin tones i would use lavender colours and muted purples otherwise it may bring out the unwanted imperfections of the face, fig 1 by MAC is good option because its matte, muted and dark and MAC's Beautiful Iris its a nice lavender colour, also UD's AC/DC which is a dark purple for smokey eye

For darker skin tones i would go all out and use bright purples, light but still visible purples :) try: MAC's Vibrant Grape or Creme de Violet and UD's Ecstasy which is a light purple (make sure to wear good base underneath to make the colour stand out)

that's it for purples, other colours i love to use on brown eyes are SIVERS! they make your browns sparkle uncontrollably HAHA
If you don't want to wear silver eyeshadow, you can even use it as an accent for example: silver eyeliner, when doing a natural or brown look :)

other than that blues, teals, and greens work well

and... i know that not too many people like pinks, for many reasons, they are hard to find and they are hard to match with your skin, but when you do get a nice pink try and work it :)

for light skin use lighter tones of pink and for darker skin use darker, brighter tones of pink:)

I can't tell you what to use and what not to use these are just suggestions and i used MAC and UD as examples because they are easy to find and you can match a good colour with any of them because these colours are available to look at on line, don't feel like you have to use these brands :D

First day @ Make Up Academy :D

Hi Everyone :)

Many of you by now know i have just started my make up school!!! i'm absolutely in love with the program already and i had so much fun the first day.. omg.. where to start???... there is so many thing i want to tell you and i have no idea where to start haha
alright so from the beginning:
i started looking into make up colleges about 3-4 months ago but nothing seemed to interest me because the course was either too long or it was not concentrated mainly on make up artistry or it was just out of my price range... :S
so i started looking at academies! i found few that i was interested in and i scheduled orientations with them to find out more and choose the one that would suit me best! :) i finally found THE ONE!!!! i'm not going to mention the name of it because i did not ask my program coordinator whether i could do so, i might ask later and let you know :)
so from the beginning i really liked my program coordinator and i loved what the school had to offer, they were very concentrated on make up artistry.
the courses i choose came in a bundle which made it cheaper in the long run. i believe there is a beginner make up course then there is film and fashion make up, airbrush course, fantasy make up and permanent lashes extension (exciting!). the tuition also covers the starters kit for each of the courses :) and let me tell you, the kit itself is worth going to the school HAHA :) just kidding! lol but really on Thursday (which was my first day) we got our make up cases.. FULL of MAC AND MUFE cosmetics! IT WAS BETTER THAN A CHRISTMAS MORNING!!!!!!!!!! you will see later on what was in the case, in my soon to come videos :) thats is also very exciting :)
The other 2 girls that are taking the same courses at the same time are also very lovely :) we clicked the first day we met and even had a lunch together at Timmies :) yes, only 2 other girls, lol the academy wants to have minimal classes to give as much attention to individuals as possible (that is another reason as to why i chose that school) out trainer is very nice also and very knowledgeable :) she has worked for many cosmetic companies in the make up artistry department so she is definitely going to fill our heads with amazing information and tricks as well as teach us great techniques and make up ethics :) oh one more thing, its rather funny, hehe we got a rubber face to practice on lol i named mine Sally sort for Salmacis :) i will introduce you to her later on :)
i have learned so much the first day and i will do my best to share that knowledge with you in my videos that i am planning to start posting very soon :D

Lovebird - Kaiu

Hello Everyone :D

Today i am posting a make up which was inspired by our new family bird. it's a love bird and it's name is Kaiu :) It's loud and very cute haha! One day i did just a simple teal and green make up (you can see on upper lid) and when i went to see Kaiu I realized that the colours match him perfectly except for my make up was missing the bright blue colour which is underneath Kaiu's wings, I decided to add it along with some white colour to separate the colours and that's what came out of it :)

Favourites of the Month - Part II and III - 3 Body and 3 Hair Products

This is a continuation of the 4 part series on my favourite products of month March. In part 2 i will talk about favourite Body products. I did use them, and my reviews are based on my actual experience, sorry for the lack of actual images though, i am not at home to take pictures :P and i wanted to post this already, since it's the last day of March :) DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT ALSO MEANS??? MY FIRST CLASS OF MAKEUP SCHOOL IS TOMORROW!!! :D YYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!
haha anyway... so the 3 Favourite Body Products for March are:

1. Each Peach from LUSH

obviously i don't have to expand on this product because everyone knows how excellent Lush products are :) just briefly why it was my favourite of March: it really moisturized my skin and it is so nice to put on. It melts on your body so you can evenly distribute it, and it smells delicious :) not like peaches though :S but like ORANGES :) yum :) It gave my body the moisture it needed on the cold weather (it contains Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter) and also putting it on my skin in the morning awaken my senses (smells like fresh fruit) which allowed me to be fresh and awake on a cold, dark morning. Price is very reasonable, because it last long, $8.95.

2. St. Ives Apricot Scrub

I usually buy this scrub in a bigger container just because not only i love it, but also my boyfriend does :P in our house it goes pretty fast :) its excellent for face as well as for body, and as my boyfriend would probably like to add "excellent to exfoliate your face before shaving", so ladies can use it to exfoliate they skin on their legs, for example :) I use it everyday because it is quite gentle on your skin, and i have pretty delicate skin, I don't scrub for long though because it might leave my face looking red for a while after the shower. It has a very pleasant smell and i am not even afraid to use it softly on my eye area. Very inexpensive for a large size, depending on where you get it, it may cost you as little as $4.

3. Glove me Tender Hand Cream by Bath and Body Works

At one point in my reviews you will realize that I am a total Shea Butter freak :P I loooooove Shea Butter, it is just such an amazing ingredient :) i buy certain things just because they contain it. I have a very sensitive skin and i get easily irritated by certain products that's why the soothing qualities of Shea Butter are so lovely :) This hand cream of course! contain Shea Butter also along with other wonderful ingredients that keep your hands soft during cold, dry days. It smells a little citrusy and you really need just a tiny drop on your hands, great payoff! even though the price might be shocking for a hand cream, trust me it will last a really long time :) SPF 15 is also great since it protects your skin from aging, and protects you from damaging qualities of sun rays, great product to use all year long :) price: $15.

Now onto 3 Favourite Products of March for Hair :)

1. Matrix Essentials So Silver Shampoo

Since I die my hair blonde, i need a shampoo that will help my colour treated hair from yellowing, this shampoo is excellent for that very reason. You can actually see the difference it makes. You shouldn't wash your hair with it everyday because its quite strong and might strip your hair from its natural oils if you use it too often. When i wash my hair with my regular shampoo my hair seems much more dull and yellow, then when i wash it with So Silver, it actually gives you that silver glow to your hair colour. The shampoo is a dark purple colour but it turns quite white as soon as it lathers up :) it must also contain some kind of conditioning ingredients because my hair feels soft after washing it even without conditioner, i still use a conditioner but i don't feel like i really have to. The smell is quite gross however... i dunno... to me it smells like fresh picked tomatoes LOL i know weird huh?! :P the price is quite high too (i think it cost me about $18) but it last for a long time since you only use a little bit 2-4 times in a week. Despite the price and the smell i would not hesitate to repurchase it.

2. Got 2b Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion

IT HAS A CHARM!!! SO CUTE! BUT obviously NOT the reason why it is my favourite HAHA. It smells FANTASTIC, kind of fruity, maybe candy-like almost, just wonderful :) my bf loves that smell also, he comments on it A LOT! just as a side note the hair spray from that line smells just as good, weird because hair sprays usually smell awful! Back to Lotion, it works really well. It untangles my hair and makes them soft... sooooo soft! I was skeptical about it because it was so inexpensive and all that fancy packaging... seemed like what was inside was just going to be... lets say... not so good. But it turned out great! When i bought it, i think it was on a major sale, because i got it for like $4.

3. Sunsilk Daring Volume Volumizing Spray

This product i got later on in March and i just fell in love with it from the first use. It definitely gives you volume, lots of it, no questions about it, the best part of it however, it made my hair look fresh and "just-blow-dried" all day long, bouncy and shiny, no hairspray needed! It was amazing! smells pretty good to, nothing too irritating :) i don't know the price because i got it from my boyfriends sister :S sorry...

Favourites of the Month - Part I - 10 FACE products

Hey Everyone!

I was so busy last two days and didn't even have a chance to go on my blog!!! :O HORRIBLE!!!! but the weekend started and i am ready to blog again :)

I have so much to share with you guys, i went shopping and i want to do a haul and i have so many products reviews and they just keep piling in my head lol so i decided to do this first...

I wanted to start presenting my favourite products of each month, i know that i didn't do one in february but please forgive me :P
In this part one of this 4 part series i will be talking about my favourite FACE products.

but before that!!! let me introduce you to my work space :D

it shows all that is usually on it, my cotton swabs which i must have at all times, they are my friend :P and my vision board! i sometimes put a make up or hair idea on it and recreate it when i have time. i have pictures of places that i want to go to one day on there too, but you can hardly see it on the top left corner. the "locked" drawer with my make up (i live with 3 other teenager girls!!! :P JUST KIDDING!!! LOVE YOU MAIA, TIFFANY AND BRITTANY!!!!!) that drawer is never locked lol :P

oh and of course a picture of my lovely boyfriend :) i need to make a post for/about him one day because he is the photographer, and this blog would not exist if it wasn't for him :* :* :*

Favourite Products of February - PART I - FACE

lets start of with this Cover Girl Lipgloss in Pink Positive (i love the name lol), i really liked this lipgloss in March because it has a very delicate pink colour which was great for everyday wear, in March the weather is still not so great so its lip balm qualities kept my lips look and feel great. The smell and taste is so refreshing, it has a spear mint flavour :)

MAC's Woodwinked e/s. I really like this e/s because it is great to wear it just by itself with some mascara, and i don't know about you, but i in the middle of late winter/early spring, like to get my sleep so waking up in the morning 40 minutes earlier to do a fancy make up is not in my schedule... i just like to put one or two eyeshadows, mascara and go... this one served me pretty well during my lazy mornings, which you can tell because i am definitely hitting the metal pan lol it's very pigmented and multidimensional therefore it looked like i am wearing many shades of brown colours :)

MAC's FIX + Skin refresher/Finishing Mist
This product, i feel, will be a favourite of each month haha :P it just works for all seasons. In March we get those rainy days and without the Fix + all my make up would be running down my face. In the warmer weather it refreshed your skin and and provides it with vitamins, at the same time making your make up look more natural. Its good to use with pigments also, It makes them look more vibrant, and i could talk about this product all day but i'm gonna stop here! LOL

I have already talked about this product in my previous post so here is just a reason as to why it was a favourite in March. And the answer is simple, i like to bring back spring by wearing a lot of bright spring coloured make ups and Milk has helped me achieve the looks i desired :) giving me a nice smooth white base underneath my bright colours :)

I can't imagine doing my make up without it. Great just GREAT eyeliner brush, its my favourite of March because i got it in March and i absolutely fell in love with it from the first use :) .. again, a possibility of being the every month fave!

I really like this product because you can really build it up. I mean in March wanting to wear all these spring colours i wanted to be able to wear a little less eyeliner to make the looks softer, more wearable and this eyeliner definitely helped me achieve that.

NYX Blush in Natural
Again i talked about this blush in one of my previous posts therefore i will just say why i liked it in March, the answer is simpler than you think. ITS BECAUSE IM EXTREMELY PALE IN WINTER :P and the brush is of the lightest colour i ever tried and it still shows quite nicely :)

Ben Nye Pigment in Golden Apricot
I love this colour it is my favourite shade and have been looking for one like this for a very long time and i finally found one. Wonderful for natural make up, which i love to wear and a good thing about this pigment is that you can really dress it up, great for work, because its not too bright but it still shows its beautiful shimmers :) i just love it!!!

(wearing bright looks is great but for work sometimes its not appropriate hence the browns and apricot colours :P)

which is my wonderful Faces Perfecting Skin Smoother which makes for a great base underneath liquid or powder foundation
It is so velvety i absolutely adore it. It wears all day plus its moisturizing and my skin needs all the moisture it can get on cold March days :)

ok almost done, hang in there ok? :) i just really want you to have a good idea of what's worth buying. i always like to see someone else use it before i buy it because it is a better chance i might like it :D

Wonderful Clinique Superbalanced Makeup
I know that Nikki did a review on this product back in February, as one of her February Favourites, i remember commenting on how i love the foundation so here it is :) I love it because it moisturizes my face, it covers it quite well yet it feels as if i put on just a light moisturizer :) it gives my skin all the hydration i need in March and it is very easy to put on.

Hello Everyone :)

Here is just one of my other little creations. I started doing this one quite late at night, so i may look a bit tired :P the make up was supposed to look a bit different, it was supposed to be like a spring inspired and look, all funky and stuff, when i thought i was finished i didn't like it and i decided to add more eyeliner and then it reminded me of a traditional indian make up style :) with the colours it reminded me very much of a sunset :) that's the story behind the name hehe ;)

Today's look is not inspired by anything and the title is just something i came up with at the moment i was writing this haha so don't mind it lol i just had absolutely no clue as to how to call this look :P, i was just playing with colours and i was mixing pigments trying to get more fascinating shades and that's what came out of it :)

MAC Give Me Liberty of London

Hi Everyone :)

How is everyone doing? I hope you're well :)

Today i prepared something different for you, i went all out on my photoshop and created a cute little image for you that represents the new line Mac has released "Give me Liberty of London".

The reason i even did the make up was because i did the nails that were presented in the pictures for the new line. I thought they were so cute so i pulled out my O·P·I Alpine Snow and some designing nail polish pencils i got on eBay and they turned out exactly like on the original picture! lol What do you think?

So after doing the nails i figured why not go all out and do the make up to go along with it :D

I just came from work and i am really tired, i decided to relax :) i find blogging is one of my forms of relaxation.

Hi Everybody :)

I have made some purchases at the MUG (Make Up Geek) store and I wanted to share those with you since I am very excited and i really like those products :)

The actual products pictures are not my pictures, these are originals from the MUG Store, I kinda forgot to take pictures and i'm posting this while i'm at school LOL

Here are some swatches and quick overall reviews on them.

First: Ben Nye Pigments

Blues and Greens

1. Cosmic Blue
2. Jade

Reds and Pinks

Golds

1. Sun Yellow
2. Aztec Gold
3. Iced Gold

Colous are very vibrant and they wear extremely looooong, even if you don't use a primer (it takes a while till they slide down your hand) they will definitely not wear long without any sort of primer but they look vibrant either way, here on the swatch, pigments are set on Urban Decay Primer Potion, with the primer (of any sort) they were actually quite hard to take of. I tried to take them of with water by itself, didn't work, I had to use soap to remove them. The colours are build-able also so you can wear a thin or a thick layer. There is also a wide range of colours to choose from. Knock yourself out!!! :D

Second: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils and NYX Glitter Liner

1. NYX Glitter Liner in Silver
2. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean
3. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

Those NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils are absolutely essential to any make up artist, I LOVE THEM. They are amazing for a base underneath any eyeshadows or pigments of any brand. You do need to wear an actual Primer underneath them because they will crease. They are very creamy and without a primer may just melt into your skin. You can use them in waterline. Also using an eyeliner brush (by picking up some product from the top), you can line your upper and lower eyelid.
I have realized that its very hard to sharpen them because they are very wide, however there is a very easy way to depot them, watch out for a tutorial video on that ;)
Even after depoting them it's very easy to line your waterline with them, simply by using eyeliner brush to dip into the pot, container, whatever you choose to depot it into :) I also find them much easer to use when they are depoted. Besides you don't waste any product that way, whenever you sharpen them product gets thrown away along with the shavings.

NYX Glitter Liner is also very vibrant and it wears all day, the glitter is very dense so just one stroke gives you a lot of product, it is very vibrant as you can see. It is simply a glitter line this is why there is not much to say except for how dense it is and how long it lasts haha :) OH YEAH! It has a cute tassel :D

Third: NYX Blush in Natural

This blush is just such a joy to wear :) such a light texture and it's easy to put on, very pigmented (this colour is one of the lightest there is, that's because i'm so pale lol), it wears for a long time, I had to re-aply it only once at around 8 pm when i put in on first at 8 am, so it lasts about 12 hours.
There is a very wide range of colours and trust me all skin types can be matched :)

So there you have it :) I hope i answered at least some of your questions you might have had about any of the products. If you have any more questions DO NOT hesitate to ask :)

Here is another look I have created tonight :) I really like it and i might just wear it more often :P
It was veeeeeeeeery easy and it literally took me like 10 minutes. I decided to do something more creative with the eyeliner this is why you can see a bit of a hill in the middle of the eye, and the 3 little dots at the end give it a unique touch. I was going for the ancient Greece feel by adding the gold powder on my cheek and gold lips.

Matte About You!

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick review on a new "nail polish" i picked up yesterday when i was at the mall, I LOVE IT!
Its Essie Matte About You matte finisher.

I know that many other people did a review on this product (this is why i bought it cause it looked so interesting) but i thought what the heck, I may just as well give you my point of view hehe

Here is what it did:

On the left are two regular nail polishes and on the right are the same nail polishes but with Essie's Matte About You as a top coat.

#1 is Light a Candle by O‧P‧I (Nicole)
#2 is Sapphire in the Snow by O‧P‧I covered with Rockstar Pink by Sally Hansen

I really like this product because it gives another look to an already existing, in your make up drawer, "old" nail polish. It gives it such a smooth finish almost "milky". It is easy to put on, it smells and acts just like a regular nail polish. It is, in my opinion, the best for nail polish that contains glitter of some sort, preferably larger size glitter. Sometimes glittery nail polish may look uneven and bumpy when it dries on the nail, this Matte About You finish gives it a new dimension, one that is more even and glitter is more visible because it does not reflect so much light.

I personally love shiny nails however I believe that I need more variety this is why i thank Essie for the release of the new Matte Finish :)

Spring Flower

Hi Everyone ❀

Today was such a beautiful day! 12 degrees where I live, it wasn't this warm since October! All I could think of is blooming flowers, therefore I decided to put my thought into reality :) Through make up :D

I will show you how to get from a simple spring look...

...into Spring Flower like here:

Lets get started:

Step #1:
Using a medium coloured eye pencil liner draw the outline of the flower (I used Urrban Decay Eye Pencil in Bourbon)

Step #2: With a thin brush, draw 3 lines (I used MAC Bare Study Paint Pot as a base and sprinkled white eyeshadow on top - 120 palette)

Step #3: With a small brush put bright pink eyeshadow on the ends of the petals (120 palette) and with a black eyeliner draw 3 dots at the end of each white line (Faces Liquid Eyeliner in Black #1)

Step #4: With a bright orange-peach eyeshadow fill up the spaces that haven't been coloured yet (120 palette), except for the centre of the flower, leave that for the next step ;P

Step #5: With a bright lime-green fill up the middle of the flower (120 palette) and then, with the sharpened tip of a medium tone eyeliner, draw very thin lines from the spaces in between the petals to the centre of the flower

YOU'RE DONE!!!

I hope you are having an awesome weekend :D I sure am :) For those of you who follow me on twitter know that I had a planned professional photo shoot yesterday, it was supposed to be with my friend who is a photographer... it didn't work out, unfortunately plans changed last minute :( BUT I promised a photo shoot and I wasn't going to let you down!!! So me and MY "photographer" :P Took some pictures and created some funky backgrounds and that's what we came up with.

Today is the day :D

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Release date woohoo :) I am a big fan and I cant wait to go and see it, I couldn't go today because I had to work... blah... but I am definitely going to go soon and see it in 3D!!! :D

I am still amazed at how i did that <3 card... when I designed it I thought it was gonna be a total failure :P

Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hello Everyone!

As requested by Lydia, I am doing a Smokey Eye Tutorial, which is my second tutorial but today its going to be more detailed and longer :P
I hope you enjoy it :)

This is the final look:

And here is how i got there:

Step #1: Prime your eye with any type of base, I used MAC Bare Study Paint Pot

Step #2: Apply any medium to dark shade eyeshadow to your whole lid and even above if you want a more dramatic look, here I am using Urban Decay's Misdemeanor

Step #3: Apply a very light eyeshadow to the inner corner of your eye, I am using Crystal Avalanche by MAC

Step #4: Apply a very dark eyeshadow to the outer part of the lid, go about half way in, I used Urban Decay's Perversion

Step #5: All of it needs to be very well blended before you can move to the next step

Step #6: Here you can darken your outer corner with a fair amount of very dark eyeshadow, I used NYX in Odyssey, you will need to shape the shadow and make letter "C" with your brush in order to pull that dark colour to the outer, bottom lid

Step #7: Apply your liquid eyeliner (you can create a winged look) to your top lash line, and a black pencil liner to your waterline, I used Faces liquid liner in black #1 and Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in Zero

Step #8: Finally put on mascara for example L'Oreal Voluminous in Black

Add False Lashes for a more dramatic look ;)

Hi Everyone!

This time i wanted to try RED! I have never worn red and i wasn't sure if I could pull if off... i dunno... what do you think?

Here is what i came up with, it kind of reminds me of a superhero mask so i called it Wonder Woman :)

Here is a cool effect i got after playing with Photoshop a bit, check it out:

I used:
UB primer potion
The Manly 120 palette (last 5 reds; the brightest ones)
MAC eyeshadow in Crystal avalanche
Faces liquid eyeliner in Black #1
Lise Watier eye glitter liner in opal
Mascara L'Oreal voluminous

Hello Everyone! :)

Tonight I came up with something that in my opinion is really interesting. Using basically as little as one product to create a look, I used a bit more to make it presentable but you COULD get away just using one or two products (eyeliner and mascara).

Here is a look inspired by Cleopatra, the queen of ancient Egypt :)

MAC eyeshadow in Crystal Avalanche
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Perversion

It is really late and i just finished my photo session, time to post new look! woohoo :P

This one is inspired by my pet GECKO :) i love him, his name is Iggy :P i will post his picture so you can see how i used his unique patterns to create my look :)

For this make up I used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Manly 120 Palette (greens, blue-purples, yellows)
MAC's eyeshadow in Coral
Eyeliner from Faces in Black for the upper lid eyeliner and the black spots
(Also, to get the lighter spots, I stamped a liquid primer with a tiny brush tip and sprinkled it with a yellow shimmery eyeshadow)
Waterline Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero
Mascara L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black

GOOD MORNING! (its morning to me haha)

Last night i was doing a photo shoot and here is my next make up look. I LOVE IT! and i hope you will too. I bought this indigo coloured pigment and i just HAD to use it in one of my looks, here is how it turned out:

Here ae some products i used (not many by the way):
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Bellapierre Cosmetics pigment in Radio Active (that's the new pigment)
NYX im Casablanka to blend out the colour on the upper lid
Urban Decay in Jinx and Flipside for the crease
MAC in Vanilla to highlight
You can use any liquid black eyeliner to create winged look for both top and bottom lines, I used Faces black liquid eyeliner
Lise Watier Eye Glitter Liner in Opale
Mascara L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black

Request Tutorial - Asian Eye

Hello Everyone!

Here is a very short tutorial for a request that have been left on my page for an Asian eye look. I am not sure exactly as to what it was supposed to be line exactly but that's my interpretation from the request since no picture was attached :) no worries if that's not what you're looking for let me know and I will tweak it :P

Step #1: As you normally would outline a black line on your upper eyelid, don't bring it up too high like you would normally for a cat eye, just straight to the side.

Step #2: Connect the upper line with a bottom line still making sure that the tail is to the side.

Step #3: Line your waterline with a black eyeliner.

Step #4: Set the eyeliner with a black eyeshadow, you may use the eyeshadow to make a smoky look if you wish to.

This is a complete look :)

Chocolate Raspberry

Hello Everyone!

Today i have another look for you inspired by my favourite flavour of chocolate :) raspberry ... mmmmm..... :)
Alright so this look was not too hard it just look a lot of patience haha
I really hope you like it and feel free to comment :)

Oh and just so you know I am not ignoring a request that i have gotten on my page! I am getting to it, I will probably be posting that on Saturday night since that's when my photographer is available ;P

Anyway here you go:

So, products that I used to get this look were:
Urban Decay Primer Potion as my base
To get the layers of colours I used pigments from Faces and Ben Nye and Urban Decay Eyeshadow, to start from bottom up:
White frosty pigment from Faces
Azalea pigment by Ben Nye
Twice Baked by Urban Decay
Pink frosty pigment from Faces (this one is also on the bottom lid-middle)
And repeat the Twice Baked on the top
As my highlight I used MAC's Crystal Avalanche
The thick eyeliner on the top and the bottom is a liquid eyeliner in Black #1 from Faces
Waterline is Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in Zero
Mascara, L'Oreal Voluminous Black

Just a reminder you don't need to use any SPECIFIC products i used in this look, simple cheaper versions will work just as well :)

(Oh and I am not using any products that any of the companies mentioned above have provided me with, i have purchased all of those myself :P)

Hello :)

Today is the day when i post my first look am I am very excited to hear what You think!
This is a very soft teal look that i have came up with, for this week
I have added a black accent to it to make it more abstract but still wearable
I believe this make up really describes who I am as a make up artist, and what I am trying to accomplish in my make up work. This is why I've chosen for it to be my, very FIRST, look that i post here on the blog :)

For this make up I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Mainly the 120 Manly Eyeshadow Palette (the top row with teal colours, and the second last black)
From eyeshadows I also reached for Crystal avalanche by MAC (inner corner and highlight), Parrot by MAC and Humid also by MAC (for the outer "V")---> (but to be honest you can VERY similar colours in the 120 palette as well)
The liquid eyeliner on upper lid is a less known brand of make up, FACES its #1 Black, any liquid black liner will do.
Waterline eyeliner i used Wet n Wild Mega Liner in Turquoise (very gently just on the edge)
Mascara (never fail) L'Oreal Paris Voluminous.

So as you know I was going out to buy my first professional camera this week, well here is my new "toy":

It is the Nikon Coolpix P90!!! SURPRISE hahaha!
(none of my previews choices were available ;P BUT that's OK because i really like this one :D)

I am very excited, since today is the day I am getting my new photo camera woohoo!!!
I am not sure what kind yet but I did a LOT of research and I think we, me and my boyfriend (the photographer :P), will settle on the Panasonic DMC-FZ28 it seems like it's going to do the job I need it to do :)
My second option is Fujifilm S200EXR, I love the way this camera looks and its features, it has more megapixels but unfortunately low battery power... LET THE BEST ONE WIN!
Soon after my first post with a picture of my make up will be posted so you will be able to see my work :)
